Five Summer Shoes Must Haves!!!

Hey pretty girl!!! I live in Alabama, and although summer is officially starts in June and ends in September….there have been times in the good ‘ole state of Alabama where it starts getting hot in April and hot on my birthday. Y’all, my birthday is at the end of October. SMH!!!

I thought it would be cool to share with you five summer shoes that you MUST have in your closet this summer…and probably summers to come! I’m not really a trendy person. My style is kinda classic so I’ve had the majority of all of these shoes for years and they’re still in style 😉

First pair – black thong sandals/flip flops. I shared my black Old Navy patent leather flip flops with you in my June Favorites post and I’m sharing them here. They are a must have for the summer. They are good to throw in your bag if you are wearing heels at work and need to give your feet a rest. They also are good for dressing an outfit down. Let’s say you are heading to Happy Hour after work and you want to take your heels off…go ahead and throw on your flip flops. I say black because most of the time black goes with everything 😉 Here’s a link to a similar pair from Old Navy! Super affordable!

Second pair of must have summer shoes – sexy wedges. Now, I will be the first to tell you that I don’t think wedges are sexy. I am a stiletto girl, but there are a couple pair of wedges that are sexy and I own a pair. I purchased these Naughty Monkey wedges a few years ago and I have seriously worn them soooo much!!! I think what makes them “sexy” is that they are suede and they have fringe…oh yeah…I think the height makes them sexy as well. Wedges can dress up your jeans or give you a casual look for your cute summer dresses for work! Here is a really cute pair of wedges!

Third pair – ankle strap sandals. Like I stated above, I LOVE stilettos!!! A good pair of ankle strap sandals are a must have for the summer. You can wear these out on a date or to work if you want. You can dress up your jeans or definitely wear them to work with your slacks, pencil dresses or a nice pencil skirt. I purchased these from Steve Madden. Here is a similar pair from Steve Madden.

Fourth – espadrilles. During the summer, I hate wearing closed toe shoes. I get pedicures every two weeks and I love wearing a cute sandal, but there are times when your outfit doesn’t lend for a strappy sandal or wedges. On these days, slip on your espadrilles. They are so popular now-a-days. They even have some sneaker like style espadrilles. I have a suede pair that lace up the leg…super cute!!! I typically wear them with a cute dress or jeans. Last and certainly not least – a lightweight sneaker/tennis shoe. Sneakers are another type of shoe that I don’t wear often, but you have to have them. I LOVE these Cole Haan sneakers. I purchased a pair last summer and they are the most comfortable shoes EVER!!! They are super stylish and a must have for summer. Cole Haan actually has sneakers that are knit and breathable so not only are they lightweight…but you also don’t have to wear socks with them!!!
