I’m coming at you today with my bare face, gray edges and all!!! I thought that it made more sense to talk to you about skincare without any enhancements which allows my natural skin to shine through. Honestly, this is how my skin looks most days. it’s only on the days when I go into the office or I”m going to a special event that I even add concealer to my face. Skincare has become a slight obsession for me. I’ve always had what I would consider “good skin,” but as I’ve gotten older, I have started trying different products on my skin to ensure that my skin is in it’s best shape. In today’s post, I am sharing some of my favorite skincare products that I’ve used this summer.
I really am a creature of habit. Once I find something that I like, I kinda stick with it unless something happens that forces me to switch something up.
I have been doing a double cleanse since I heard about it years ago. I have been using the Elemis Cleansing Balm for the past two years and it is absolutely AMAZING!!! It is worth every penny. It gets rid of mascara and very pigmented lipsticks with ease! I also use this Face Halo (or the cloth that came with my first Elemis Cleansing Balm purchase) to assist with removing the make up and/or sunscreen. I use the fragrance free version because the scent the original was tad strong for my taste. They also have this rose scented one, and this limited edition green fig scented balm.
This summer I’ve been using this cleanser by Tatcha for the past few years and I splurged a little bit on this one from Tata Harper. They are both good, but if I’m being honest, I think I prefer the Tatcha cleanser. It’s at a great price point and I don’t have any reason to switch up. The Tata Harper is great! It really does what it claims to do – make your skin soft. I swear that the skin on my face feels super soft after using it.
I started using toners about two years ago and this one by fresh is my current favorite. I have tried one by Ren Clean Skincare, but I haven’t used it in a very long time and I noticed that it’s no longer on the Sephora website.
You can’t have a complete skincare routine without a good moisturizer. I have have been using these three this summer and I like each one of them. I use this one by Sunday Riley during my morning skincare routine because it has Vitamin C, I use this one from Tatcha when I use the accompanying cleanser and this one by Tata Harper when I use the Softening Cleaner (I use these two during my nighttime routine).
When I got real serious about my skincare, I started off using this moisturizer by Belif which is AMAZING! It’s so lightweight, but it really does an amazing job of moisturizing your skin.
I’m not too fussy when it comes to eye cream. I just canceled my Fab Fit Fun subscription box, but when I was subscribed to the box I would just use whatever came in the box (if there was an eye cream); however, this eye cream that I have bought and loved is by Olehenriksen.
I hear people say that face oil is totally unnecessary (and it probably is), but I will tell you that my face feels the softest after using a face oil the night before. The face oils that I’ve been using and loving as of late is this one by Biossance. I have also used this one by Biossance as well and I love it too! I only use a face oil during my night time routine.
Sunscreen is something that I use everyday. Using this one by Supergoop! makes it very easy to incorporate into your morning skincare routine. This sunscreen has a hint of a tint in it, which makes you want to wear it on days that you’re not wearing make up because it gives your face a little bronze-y glow.
You can find the details for this look here.
I almost always have some kind of product on my lips throughout the day. I am so afraid of having dry lips that I put this lip balm by fresh on immediately after washing my face or this lip oil by Dior before going to bed.
I hope you enjoyed this post all about summer skincare and my summer skincare favorites. Let me know what your go-to skincare favorites are in the comments below!
’til next time!
