Hey pretty girl! Welcome back to the blog! Fall is my favorite season. I love the temperature, I love the fashion and most of all I love all of the different styles of jackets and coats I get to where. You see – I’m a northern girl at heart. I was born and raised in Detroit and I am used to having 3-4 month seasons. When I first traveled to the south for college, I had brought all of my coats and jackets down to Tennessee for nothing. LOL! I went home for Christmas break and hadn’t event worn my heavy coat. My birthday is at the end of October and every year in Alabama it’s always warm. I remember being on campus, it was probably my senior year of college and it had to be about 80 degrees on my birthday. In this post I am going to talk about those fall outerwear must haves.
When you live in a mild climate like I do, denim jackets are a year-round staple. It’s the end of October and the high today is 81 degrees. Although during mid-day the temps can be relatively high, the mornings and evenings are very mild. My favorite denim jacket is from J. Crew Factory. I wear it all the time and I absolutely love it. There are also a couple of higher-priced denim jackets with some cook design details/features that I like that I’m thinking about adding to my wardrobe as well.
I’ve had this lightweight jacket for years and it has been a staple that I pull out every time I need a lightweight jacket. It looks really good with casual outfits like a t-shirt and jeans. If you’re interested in any of the outerwear pieces in this post, you can find recommendations as well as the exact pieces here.
A classic trench coat is hands down a wardrobe staple for a woman. It is the perfect complement to any fall outfit. it looks great with dresses, jeans and even leggings/joggers. I’ve had this trench coat from J. Crew for years and it is still holding up very well.
A puffer vest is a style of jacket that I never knew I needed. The kick here is that I have added a faux leather hooded puffer vest from Walmart that is so chic, it would be a great addition to your fall wardrobe. I would wear this with leggings, faux leather leggings, jeans, casual dresses and/or joggers.
I got this lightweight bomber style jacket from Amazon, and while I haven’t had the chance to wear it out yet, I have tried it on a shared a few different looks on the LTK app. It’s so cute! It is one of the best additions to my fall wardrobe.
I hope you enjoyed this post all about the must have outerwear pieces for your fall wardrobe. What are your must-haves? I’d love to hear about them. Leave them in the comments below.
’til next time!
xo, Robyn
