Hey pretty girl! Welcome back to the blog! As the seasons shift, I love taking a moment to reset my wardrobe with pieces that carry me gracefully from late summer into fall. The key is choosing versatile items that layer easily, pair well with what you already own, and feel polished no matter how you style them.
Here are 7 pieces I’m reaching for this fall to reset my wardrobe:

1. THE BLAZER
Perfect for layering over linen dresses or pairing with trousers. A polished blazer instantly elevates an outfit, even if you’re just running errands. I am a blazer girl! I honestly feel like you can’t have too many blazers. LOL! Blazers are the article of clothing that can instantly elevate any look – pants, skirts, jeans, shorts, leggings.
2. MINI DRESSES IN NEUTRAL HUES
Think black, sand, or soft mauve. These dresses work solo now, then layer beautifully with blazers, cardigans, or knee boots when temps dip. Mini dresses are my thing! Because I am petite, I like to show my legs as much as possible. Showing a little skin (especially below the knee) gives the appearance of longer legs when paired with the right shoe. A good mini dress with a knee high boot is my go-to uniform during fall.
3. KNIT SWEATERS
Light enough to toss over your shoulders, but warm enough to wear into October. Cropped lengths keep proportions chic with wide-leg trousers or midi skirts. In the south, it doesn’t really start getting cool until mid-October, but the nights start to get cool mid-September. This is the perfect time to pull out your knit sweaters for warmth when needed. Think cardigans or crewnecks that can easily be draped over your should for a stylish, chic look…but worn if it gets too cold while you’re out.
4. TAILORED TROUSERS
White, navy, and olive trousers make the perfect transitional bottoms. Add sandals now, then swap in loafers or boots. I’m still wearing these straight leg slacks that I got from H&M a couple of years ago! They are perfect for the office. The material is great, the fit is amazing and the price can’t be beat! Straight leg pants and jeans are my all time favorite. They are the most versatile silhouette because they can go with any style shoe.

- Banana Republic Factory Relaxed Fit Button Up | Ramy Brook Liv Jeans | Aquazzura Sandals
5. CHIC FLATS & LOAFERS
Closed-toe shoes like loafers, slingbacks, and block-heel flats give a polished fall touch when you’re ready to put the sandals away. I have been wearing a pair of pointed toe, snake print loafers by Steve Madden for years…it is definitely time for a new pair. I am looking at this leopard print pair and this suede leopard pair – both from Ann Taylor. If your’e looking for a chic leopard print slingback flat, give these a look. If you like the mesh Mary Jane trend have a look at these.

6. THE GO-TO CARRYALL
A structured tote or satchel adds sophistication while also being practical for work, errands, or travel. I am a tote bag – handbag kinda girl. I LOVE a large handbag. I am waiting on two suede handbags to be delivered from ASOS. I’m so excited to unbox them! I got this one in brown and this one in an olive green. While I await for those, I do get a ton of wear out of my LV Neverfull during fall/winter as well as this one by Naghedi and this tan one from Cuyana.
7. ELEVATED BASICS
Simple tanks, button-ups, and tees in high-quality fabrics (linen, cotton, silk) become the foundation for layering this season. If you’re on the hunt for a good long sleeve button ups I highly recommend this one from Banana Republic Factory or this one from J. Crew Factory. The quality, fit and price are all amazing.
I hope you enjoyed this post all about the 7 pieces I will be reaching for as we transition to fall! If you found this post helpful – let me know in the comments! I’d love to hear about it!
’til next time!
xo, Robyn
