Hey pretty girl! Welcome back to the blog! It’s been about a month since my last post, but August was a busy month! I held my first style workshop last week (yay me!) and I spent the whole month of August prepping for it! Needless to say all the prep work paid off! The workshop was amazing and I’m so glad I took the time to promote it, educate my community a facilitate the first workshop of its kind in Madison, AL!
September always feels like a fashion tug-of-war. The calendar says fall is coming, but the thermometer says summer. Instead of sweating through sweaters or staying stuck in sundresses, I rely on polished outfit formulas that bridge the gap—cool enough for the heat, chic enough to read “fall.”
Today I’m sharing five early-fall outfit formulas that work perfectly when the temps are still high but your style wants autumn vibes. Think lightweight fabrics, chic color combos, and accessories that say “new season, same polish.”
If you’re new around here (or just catching up), here are some recent blog posts you’ll want to check out!

Linen isn’t just for July. Pairing linen trousers with a neutral shirt (I love my white camp shirt linen shirt from Quince and these green linen pants from Talbots) keeps the outfit breathable. You don’t have to wear linen from head to toe, but pairing linen with other materials during this transition period is very chic. Slide sandals add ease, while gold jewelry tips it into fall polish.

When in doubt, reach for black. A lightweight midi (or maxi) feels airy in the heat, but the dark tone grounds it for fall. I add gold hoops and neutral sandals—simple but sophisticated.

Yes, barre outfits count! Olive leggings with an ivory top are breathable, chic, and polished. I swap my sneakers for slides post-class, and I’m brunch-ready. I’ve also styled my leggings with a half-tucked white button up. You can see that look here.

Denim keeps you grounded while a crisp blouse says “new season.” It’s my favorite way to feel elevated for meetings or casual Fridays. A pointed mule makes this formula.

You don’t have to rush into boots and coats to feel like fall. With the right colors, fabrics, and accessories, you’ll look seasonal and stay comfortable.
I hope you enjoyed this post all about I style my pieces during the transition period from summer to pre-fall! If you found this post helpful – let me know in the comments! I’d love to hear about it!
’til next time!
