THE TAILORED BLAZER
Perfect for layering over dresses or pairing with denim. It instantly polishes any outfit. Blazers are my favorite article of clothing during fall. I love how chic and polished a blazer can make a simple look. If you already own a black blazer, think about adding a pop of color or a patterned blazer. I’ve been looking at blazers by Favorite Daughter and Smythe over the past few months because of their unique designs. I love this one and this one by Smythe. I love the sleeve detail on the Favorite Daughter blazer. Smythe has some very unique design details on their tailored blazers. They are a pretty penny, but they are very pretty and unique. This one has pouf sleeves, leather rifle patches on the sleeves as well as a cutaway hem that is beautiful!
A CLASSIC WHITE BUTTON UP
Wear it tucked into trousers, layered under a sweater, or casually open with denim. I’ve been wearing my Ralph Lauren button up for years and last year I finally bought a more relaxed fit one from Banana Republic Factory. I recently tried on this one and I love it! The fit is more tailored and it is at an amazing price.
DARK WASH DENIM
A flattering base that transitions from day to night. I love dark wash denim. It’s so chic and sophisticated. During fall/winter, you will always find me in medium, dark or black rinses. If you are looking to modernize your jeans this fall season, opt for a wide leg silhouette or a flare leg. These are my favorite wide leg denim trousers (less expensive pair here) and these are my favorite flare leg jeans.
A BLACK SHEATH DRESS
The ultimate desk-to-dinner piece. Pair with heels or boots. I love a sleeveless sheath dress as a wardrobe staple because it can be worn in every season and it can be dressed up with a blazer for a business formal event or it can be made to be more casual with a cardigan or layering a button up underneath.
THE TRENCH COAT
Lightweight and timeless — essential for unpredictable fall weather. If you’re looking for the perfect trench coat, you can’t go wrong with this one from J. Crew. If you’re looking for something a little different and more modern to add to your wardrobe, check out this reel. I tried on 6 different trench coats that would make a great addition to any chic wardrobe this fall season.
LIGHTWEIGHT SWEATERS
Neutral knits that layer with everything and add cozy polish. I love cashmere sweaters. Quince is my go-to for classic styles. I have two crewneck cashmere sweaters from Quince and I have also gifted a few. The price can’t be beat and the fit is feel is unmatched. I plan to buy this one in navy and oatmeal or ivory this season.
CHIC FLATS
Comfortable yet elegant for errands, work, or brunch. I am still on the hunt the perfect flats this fall and I haven’t had any luck. Although I haven’t found the right pair yet, a pair of chic flats is the perfect all-around shoe for fall. They can dress up jeans and a top or make a business formal look a little more casual.
SLEEK BOOTIES
Your go-to for polished fall evenings and cooler days. I have finally found my booties for this season. I had been looking for the past couple of years and I snagged to pre-loved pairs of Gianvito Rossi booties from The Real Real – one suede pair and one leather pair. This are going to be perfect for styling with dresses and tights or jeans this season.
A CARRYALL HANDBAG
Functional and chic, it grounds every outfit. I am a large handbag kinda girl and I’m always looking for a new handbag to add to my wardrobe. I haven’t purchased a new handbag in a while, but I have been searching for pre-loved designer satchels for fall. If you are looking for a good carryall handbag, I highly recommend a Louis Vuitton Neverfull (if the budget allows), a good quality tote like this one or a nice suede one like this one.
SIGNATURE JEWELRY
Minimal hoops, a watch, or a delicate necklace — the finishing touch to polish. I love dainty jewelry. When I need statement jewelry, I have to borrow it from someone because it’s really not something that I reach for often. My favorite pieces to wear on a daily basis is this pair of gold hoops – they are the perfect size not too big, not too small or these pearl studs that are just perfect on days when I need a little polish.
