MY FAVORITE SUMMER DRESSES
I have to be honest with you, summer is not one of my favorite seasons. I think it has something to do with the fact that it gets too freaking hot down here in the south. I am a northern girl at heart and temps above 85 degrees is a bit much for me. The one thing that I do enjoy about summer is wearing dresses! Dresses are my absolute favorite outfit piece. I love wearing them! Not just because they’re easy…you don’t have to select a top and all of that…it’s one and done outfit…I also love them because I think they are are super feminine and girly.
In this blog post I am going to share the few summer dresses that I have been loving this summer! Unfortunately, there is only one dress that I have added to my wardrobe this summer that I can link, but I’m sure you have those few dresses in your wardrobe that you LOVE wearing summer after summer.
I think I bought this dress in 2021! I absolutely love it! Not only is it cool because it’s white, it has flutter sleeves and ruffling detail around the neck which I think it so fun! It’s also midi length so you can wear it to work or church and feel comfortable. When I wear this dress I always wear it with a belt. Because the dress would be quite boxy otherwise, the belt cinches in your waist which is very flattering on an hour glass shape.
WHITE j. crew TIered MIDI DRESS
I have had this dress for two years now and I love it! It is super cute. I dress it up with a belt and wedges or I dress it down with flip flops. This dress is appropriate for work, church, brunch with the girls…you name it!
CREAM AND YELLOW DOT MAXI DRESS
I bought this dress last summer from Anthropologie and it has become one of my favorite dresses. It is very lightweight and it has polk dots which I LOVE! The tie straps are an added feminine touch that makes this dress perfect for me. It can also be worn a couple of different ways. I can wear it the traditional way with the straps tied over the shoulders or you can tuck the back two straps into the dress and tie the two front straps around your neck and make it a halter. Also, once the temperature drops you can add a denim jacket to elongate your wear.
GREEN EYELET J. CREW BABYDOLL DRESS
I think I bought this dress in 2020 and I have worn it so much since then. Although it is long sleeve, the fact that its mini, eyelet and babydoll make it great for summer. This shade of green looks really good against my brown skin and I love wearing this with wedge sandals. I typically wear a red lip with this dress as well.
WHITE OLD NAVY CUT OUT MINI DRESS
I don’t buy a lot of clothing from Old Navy, but when I was looking for an expensive dress to pack for a vacation a few weeks ago this dress checked so many boxes! 1. it was white; 2. it’s cotton, so it’s very breathable; and 3. it is trendy with the cut outs on the side. Because it was inexpensive, I felt it was okay to dive into the cut out trend. This dress is super cute! I wore it to Montgomery a few weekends ago and I was walking outside for hours!!! This dress was so lightweight that the temps didn’t really bother me.
PINK BABYDOLL DRESS
I got this hot pink dress a few years ago and I LOVE it!!! I am an AKA and when I find any super cute dresses in pink and/or green, I buy them! I bought this dress for a conference and I haven’t regretted it. I got it from a local boutique here in Huntsville and I think it’s super cute. It is a mini dress, so I am always careful about choosing accessories depending on the occasion, but I love wearing it in the summer. The pop of color is on trend and the babydoll style of dress is perfect for hour glass figures.
I hope you enjoyed this blog post! I have a video on my YouTube channel where I share a few more dresses. You can find it here. If you have any go to dresses or if you have found yourself wearing the same dresses this summer, please share them in the comments! I’d love to know what your fave dresses are for summer.
’til next time!
