A red lip is more than just makeup—it’s a mood. It’s confidence in a tube, the final touch that takes you from “put together” to “undeniably poised.” Whether I’m attending a conference, leading a workshop, or heading out to brunch, a red lip is my signature—it’s how I show up ready.
While I love a soft glam moment, there’s just something about red that makes everything else feel elevated. Even with a bare face, a clean brow, and a little gloss, a red lip can carry the whole look—and turn heads while doing it.
Today I’m sharing a few of my favorite red lip combos and the beauty staples that help me feel polished and powerful, no matter what the day holds.

MY GO-TO RED LIP COMBOS
No. 01 Everyday Power Red
This is my perfect daytime red—confident without being overpowering.
This is my new go-to red lip combo! It’s a deeper red hue and it looks AMAZING on brown skin! This lipstick stays put, doesn’t bleed, and looks stunning with minimal eye makeup. It’s perfect for everyday wear, but this is definitely the red you wanna wear if you want a bold red lip.
No. 02 The Classic Red
When you want to own the room—and every photo op—this is the red I reach for.
Liner: Sephora Colorful 8HR Longwear Transferproof Lip Liner “Berry Bang.” I started my red lip journey using Mystic Purple by Sephora, which I’m assuming has been discontinued. Then I picked up Sephoras Gel Lip Liner in Dark Horse and I don’t see that one available. Berry Bang looks to be closest in shade to Mystic Purple.
Lipstick: Fentry Beauty Icon Velvet Liquid Lipstick in “The MVP.” This is my favorite true – blue/red lipstick. It is such a pretty shade of red on brown skin. The only thing that I don’t like about it is how messy the tube gets once you get to the end.
It’s a perfect choice for everyday – whether you’re in the office, going to a conference or facilitating a workshop or meeting.
No. 03 Barre to Brunch Tint
Yes, you can wear red to Pure Barre—it just needs to be soft and wearable.

Mini Fragrance: Le Labo’s “Bergamote 22” (luxury in your tote)
Pressed Powder: Gucci Beauty Powder in Shade 10
Compact Mirror: Chic gold or blush pink (always in my bag for touch-ups) I use my Gucci Beauty Powder compact. I bought it for this reason. If you want a more classic look – opt for a black compact mirror like this one.
WHY RED WORKS EVERY TIME
A red lip has presence. It doesn’t whisper—it speaks clearly. It says, “I’m here, I’m ready, and I came with intention.” And for me, that’s exactly what I want my beauty to reflect.
Even if I’m in leggings and a trench, that red lip transforms the whole look. It’s polished, powerful, and perfectly aligned with the Pretty Prim and Proper aesthetic—bold, but always intentional.
